Simple and Easy Weight Loss

What is so hard with weight loss?

The secret: Eat less and be more active!

This is the most consistent result of multiple scientific studies on weight loss. People have lost weight by doing nothing more than eating a little less and working/moving more than they did before. You can do certain things to increase the rate of weight loss such as keeping your protein intake high and doing more intense exercise.

Is this really so hard?

I'll agree that the concept of weight loss is very simple. The trouble (for me) has never been with understanding or accepting these concepts, but rather with breaking the habits that make following these concepts more difficult. I've kind of always come from the "suck it up" school of thought on self-improvement. I've had numerous failures applying this idea to weight loss however. Inevitably, habit breaks my will. Do you have advice for getting around that?

The worst part is letting yourself go in the first place. I've never had a problem with my weight. However, a few years ago during a horrible career experience and a few unfortunate circumstances in life I gained a small amount of excess weight. Even after getting back into exercise and eating a proper diet I'm still struggling to reach "where I was before".

Self-discipline is hard for most people. I don't like seeing people who really want to lose weight get shamed by "fitness gods" because they fell off the wagon once. I feel that society is judgemental and always looking to tear others down. That's why it is so hard drop lbs because you need a lot of support.

I've lost a lot of weight over the years and put most of it right back on. It is hard because I am an emotional eater and I have to deal with a lot of internal things first before I can make any permanent changes. I know I need help from someone else because I can't do it on my own.

I believe that most of us need to become involved with either weight-loss, or "eating" groups in order to shore up a good weight loss plan. We need to become beholden to others, as well as ourselves.

Quit trying so hard to lose weight. Instead, go for health. Follow a sound paradigm for a healthy lifestyle and it's likely the weight will come off. I don't know what you're "bad habits" are, but keep in mind that most "bad habits" tend to inhibit our chances for a good experience in our later years. For many of us, the bad later-experiences begin in our mid to late-thirties.
