Bye, Bye!

Sometimes we get a lot of egos coming through our front door. People think they were hot stuff "back in the day". I think they want to start training just to show off assuming that we will be impressed with their UBER-SKILLS. It makes them feel good (based on their prior experiences). In some ways, they are just big bullies trying to assert themselves on others that they consider inferior.

99% of the “ego mongers” go out the door soon after starting. Why?

-It’s too hard.
-They are not used to the level of detail.
-They can’t live up to their own expectations.
-Learning something real actually takes some work and you don’t necessarily look “good” doing it.
-Real training didn’t match their “Hollywood” expectations.

If it were easy, everyone would do it. Quality takes time. If it is worth doing, it is worth doing well.

The other 1% of the ego-driven monsters that stick around are usually here to try to break in to “the inner circle” so they can feel as if they are a part of something greater. The key to get close, be trusted, and really reach the higher aspects of training is to LOSE THE EGO!

“Empty your cup.” It’s almost too simple.

Society teaches "now" and "me" and the concensus is that the world is going to hell. Our grandparents generation was much more open to helping others and the world at large and that is the attitude we need.

Most people, since the 60s, have no work ethic. They want everything handed to them. No one wants to work for something. It is so easy to just put in a little effort and get all the good stuff at the end. Kids today are the worst but that is because their parents are the same way.
